This house is designed for Chris and Jenn, a young couple who were looking to create a modern, energy efficient, easy to build home to raise their family. Close to Okanagan lake, the home soaks up every bit of the outdoors with large four panel patio doors which blur the lines in between the interior and exterior.

The main floor is largely for entertaining and includes a well sized entry, office, dining, kitchen and living room with all of the spaces having multiple points of access to the rear covered balcony. The master bedroom complete with walk in closet and en suite is neatly tucked away from the more public areas of the main floor. The view from the master bedroom will be to a small lap pool and pool house at the rear corner of the property. Additional spaces on the main level include a powder room, warm storage room accessed from the garage to dry out wet ski and snowboard gear), mud and laundry room and mechanical room.

The upper floor consists of a gorgeous open riser staircase with engineered wood beam LVL stair treads and LVL stringers. The main floor opens up as you climb into what we've been describing as a skywalk with windows on both sides which flood the entire home with light. The upper floor is primarily dedicated to the families children where there are three bedrooms, a jack and jill bathroom and laundry room and finally a large entertainment room and office nook.

The house is only steps from Okanagan Lake and having grown up in Australia and Kelowna, the homeowners love the beach and the outdoors in general and so their ideas and aspirations for their home have worked perfectly with our overall design philosophy of "Bring the Outdoors In."
